Winter at Holker Hall
Date: 15th Dec 2024 @ 12:25pm
We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Holker Hall on Thursday 12th December.
This time we explored the parklands on the estate, looking at and identifying trees from their bark, seeds and leaves. The children were amazed with the London Plane Tree that has camouflage bark, lychee shaped seed pods and is great for creating cleaner air in cities. We then had a go at a treasure hunt, finding things important to Holker and telling parts of its history.
In the afternoon we had the opportunity to visit the hall, all to ourselves! We had a cosy winter story by the fire in the library and then worked in teams to complete our checklist of items in the hall. Out day was finished with a yummy hot chocolate in the cafe.
Thank you to Di and Holker for having us. Another fantastic trip at one of class 1's favourite places!
