Welcome back

Welcome back to everyone and hope that this half term will be as full of exciting plans and learning as the last one.
Regularly visiting school, it is lovely to see pupils' attitudes to learning and full engagement in their school work as well as with extra curricular activities. It has been a real pleasure to hear Class 1 reading, talking about their books and enjoyment in choosing stories as well sharing a few poems and rhymes. Class 3 have been fully involved in their work on The Highwayman' which brought back many memories for myself as I had to learn it as a child !! We are lucky to have volunteers hearing reading in both Class 1 and 2. They do a wonderful job and I know they enjoy talking to the children which all helps deepen understanding of books.
Another worship cloth has begun to take shape and providing another creative experience for use in school worship. They children get so much out of being creative, adding a dimension to school lessons which enables children to notice the natural world, experience stillness and the wonder of the beauty around them as they observe, draw and recreate images in a range of mediums.
Cluster sport activities have happened across the last term and I hear from the children how much they enjoy these, especially meeting children from other schools, often creating lasting friendships.
Learning about Victorians has been on Class 3's mind, with King John and his links with the Magna Carta in Class 2, as they examine the ' Changing Power of Monarchs' : both very interesting areas of historical study which I am sure they will enjoy doing more follow up work over the coming weeks.
As we move into this next half term before the coming of Easter, the governors all look forward to hearing about a range of other activities that will stimulate learning and enhance children's experiences.
