Our Alien Planets!

Following on from our space work last week, we looked at a model of our solar system today. We looked carefully at the model and discovered that the planets travel around the sun. We also worked out which planets are hotter or colder by considering how far away from the sun they are. I was very impressed with the super space knowledge children had. After this children were set the challenge of designing their own planets! They worked in their animal groups to think about what animals and plants might be on the planet. Children were so enthused by this. They are also making papier-mâché planets which we hope will be hanging from our ceiling soon.
