Michelle Reader - recycled materials monsters

Date: 16th Jan 2020 @ 3:19pm

As we have been looking at traditional tales in English we decided to focus our creations today on Little Red Riding Hood. This week we have been looking at similarities and differences between the different versions and discussing and writing about our favourites.

Today we looked at another sculpture artist, Michelle Reader. We discussed and looked at some of her amazing creations such as 'The Jaguar'. She uses recycled materials to create her sculptures, especially technology equipment. We had a go at using recycled materials to create the 'monster' that Little Red Riding Hood would come across in our new twisted version of the traditional tale! The children got very creative, testing ways of joining and fixing material and choosing them for a purpose.
