Headteacher Friday Update 8th February 2019
Date: 8th Feb 2019 @ 11:23am
This week Class 3 welcomed American writer and editor Frances Schoonmaker to school. The children looked at her website in preparation for the visit and wrote questions ready to ask her. Frances emailed me to thank me for the visit saying, "What a wonderful place for the children and for the adults who work there...I thought the questions were really great. Frankly, I've never had a class so well prepared for a visit...Again, thanks for the school tour, the tea and biscuits, and the opportunity to be with such a lovely group of teachers and children." It's always great to receive such super feedback! The children (and adults!) really enjoyed hearing Frances read two chapters of her book and the responses to the questions.
Our young people competed admirably in the Cluster Gym Competition. My grateful thanks to Mr Dunstan and Miss Taylor-Crozier for their preparation for this and well done to all concerned!
Reverend Nick has been into classes over the week to work on the story of 'The Good Samaritan' with Class 2 and 3. We reflected on how the parable can impact on our own lives. The contributions from the children were excellent. We have also been thinking as a whole school what it means to be 'Heartsmart'; to love yourself and to love each other.
Mr Milner has led worship and also been doing penguin art with Class 2. They even created backgrounds for their penguins to sit on and mounted their own work. What an achievement!
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
