Headteacher Friday Update 7th June 2019

What an exciting week!  On Wednesday, Masterchef Champion Irini Tzortzoglou visited school.  She spoke to the children in a whole school assembly and we showed video clips of her in action.  A Cartmel resident, Irini was a very inspirational speaker and we were so proud to be the first school she has visited.  Photos can be seen on earlier blogs!  She then spent time in Class 2 and 3 taking pre-prepared questions from the children. 

On Thursday Class 2 visited L'Enclume farm to work with Donald, the farm manager planting squash, corgettes, leeks and other vegetables in our very own Cartmel CE Primary School bed!  The children had great fun getting hands on and learning about the different vegetables and growing conditions.  Irini also accompanied the children and will be working on recipes at a later date with us and even hopefully doing a spot of cooking!

As I write, Class 2 are currently visiting Lakeland Wildlife Oasis and I will be joining them later today to see and hear about their learning.
