Headteacher Friday Update 25th June 2021
Date: 25th Jun 2021 @ 2:52pm
What an amazing day yesterday at Towerwood! The children had the opportunity to try new skills, both on and off the water. With canoeing, kayaking, tree climbing and experience on the low ropes, every child was challenged and supported to engage with the outdoor learning opportunities. Every group did various team building activities, which encouraged the children to work together and communicate. They needed resilience and perseverance throughout the day and these are qualities which we aim to develop in all aspects of school life. It was super to all be able to enjoy the great outdoors, ably supported by the fabulous team at Towerwood. My very grateful thanks to all the staff for their hard work throughout the day but in particular to Miss Taylor-Crozier who managed to organise the whole event in her own time, as she only works with us for two days a week! Quite an achievement and organisational undertaking, which was brilliantly done!
Thank you to everyone for continuing to act with vigilance over the pandemic situation. With current rising rates in the region, it is important that we all maintain this proactive approach.
Remember please to contact us on admin@cartmel.cumbria.sch.uk to report any issues. Please do not leave a message on the school answer machine out of hours regarding suspected/confirmed COVID, as this is not monitored in the evenings/weekends.
The most important symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of any of the following:
- a new continuous cough
- a high temperature
- a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
If your child has any of the symptoms above, even if the symptoms are mild, please keep your child at home and arrange to have a full PCR test. You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site. More information at: Get a free PCR test to check if you have coronavirus (COVID-19) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Many thanks to you all,
Mrs Battersby
