Headteacher Friday Update 20th March 2020
Date: 20th Mar 2020 @ 10:02am
What a week! Who would have thought that we wouldn't even have chance to celebrate our wonderful Ofsted Inspection report before all this started?! It's been quite a week for everyone, one way or another and chances are this uncertainty will continue for the forseeable.
Thank you all for your support and co-operation in helping me to deal with this issue. We are going to miss the children so much and look forward to hearing all they have been up to on the school website. Do remember to go to the 'Pupil Login' area for activities, as well as the 'home learning' section under 'School Documents' on our website. We will continue to populate this with information. Please remember that school staff will be teaching also. We are unclear at this present moment how exactly this will work but we do ask that you use the resources and seach online for additional activities. There are so many out there and there are more by the hour. Our Local Authority are also collating resouces from other schools which we will share with you in time. Please don't worry about printing if you cannot. Just use a notebook, paper or the like to copy things into. There is so much learning in hands-on practical activities around the home too: gardening, baking etc. which could prove useful.
The staff team and Governors wish you all well at this very uncertain time. Please don't hesitate to email admin@cartnel.cumbria.sch.uk if you have any issues you think we may be able to help with. May I also remind you all that we are a small team and whilst we will do everything in our power to support, there will be occasion when staff may be out of action due to the virus or other deployable duties. We ask you to be mindful of this also and thank you for your understanding.
Those parents who have already self identified as keyworkers have been contacted seperately regarding arrangements.
Sending my very best to you all, keep well and safe,
Mrs Battersby
