Headteacher Friday Update 11th June 2021

Date: 11th Jun 2021 @ 9:52am

It seems to have been a rapid week this week!  We started with a super visit to Forest Schools on Monday.  The whole school enjoyed den building and lunch in the woods.  Classes also continued their ‘Imaginary Communities’ work on the ‘Enchanted Forest World’ we are building.  Class 1 located where their section of the ‘world’ was in the forest and classes 2 and 3 were on TV!  Mrs Yarrow built a TV screen from branches and string and the children interviewed each other about their settings within the world!  It was great to see everyone being so creative and sharing their ideas with each other.

I had a virtual meeting with the Children of Hope charity who work with our Ugandan link school.  They are hopeful that we will be able to get a zoom link to see the children in their outdoor learning settings later in the term, which would be a great experience both for them to see us and us to see them!  We are working on this in the forthcoming weeks.

Miss Taylor-Crozier will be writing to you in due course, to advise you of our exciting planned trip to Tower Wood for the whole school.  This is a wonderful opportunity for all our children to engage with the great outdoors and perhaps sample some activities they haven’t yet had experience of.  We are very much looking forward to this special day together.

Wishing you a great weekend.
