Harvest service
It was a great pleasure to join the school’s Harvest Service on Tuesday afternoon. All the children contributed to a lovely half-hour of celebration and reflection, and performed their roles with great confidence. Through songs, readings and drama, we learned about the meaning of harvest, the source of some famous local foods and the many reasons we have to be thankful for what we have. It was very nice to be joined by children from the Nursery too, who gave us a super song about combine harvesters, before Reverend Nick rounded off the service with a prayer.
In a rural location like ours, it’s really important to appreciate the work of local farmers and food producers, and to reflect on their role in our lives. Well done to all the children who took part, and thanks to Mrs Battersby, all staff and Reverend Nick for organizing the event.
