End of term update

Date: 15th Jul 2021 @ 2:35pm

I've decided to send this today rather than my usual Friday, as it will be very busy tomorrow! It was very special to say 'goodbye' to our Year 6 Leavers this morning, even if it had to be via Zoom! We had a series of videos, created by the children with Mr Dunstan and Mrs Yarrow; including memories, jokes and a poem/photo slideshow. We wish them all every success in their new ventures at secondary school.
Needless to say, the holidays are now upon us. I would like to extend my thanks to you all for your continued support of school during this very difficult time. Thanks for your patience, encouragement and for sticking to the rules! I really appreciate your back-up during what has been a dreadful 16 months!
I do hope that as restrictions start to lift, you manage to enjoy the summer with your families. Do keep safe and look after each other. I am not proposing to make changes to drop off/pick up in September until we see where we are, so all will continue as it is at the moment.
The usual reminder...should your child develop any COVID symptoms; high fever, new continuous cough or lack of sense of smell or taste within 2 days of being in school, please notify us on admin@cartmel.cumbria.sch.uk and get your child a PCR test, advising us of results either way.
Following that, we will not need to be notified during the summer closure period. If your child is self isolating at the beginning of September and will not be in school, please notify us on the same email address.
Business over (!)... enjoy the summer everyone!
With very best wishes,
Mrs Battersby
