Cartmel village walk

Date: 31st Jan 2020 @ 1:30pm

Yesterday the children really enjoyed our walk around Cartmel. It was a little cold and very blustery but the rain held off!

We practised using our map skills, finding the places we were at and tracking our journey. We looked at the different types of homes and buildings in Cartmel and why it didn’t have certain ones, for example a mosque or an office block. The children were very good at remembering some of the key places in Cartmel, the river name (Eea) and some of the things we would find on each road, after looking at them in class. We also stopped at 5 places and took a tally of the pedestrians we saw - the busiest places being in the square and outside the Cavendish Pub!

The children enjoyed a little play at the park before heading back to school for a biscuit and some hot chocolate to warm us up. 🍪☕️

Thank you to our helpers for making it possible!
