C1 Trip to Holker Hall and Gardens

Date: 11th May 2024 @ 7:48pm

We thoroughly enjoyed our day out in the sunshine at Holker Hall and Gardens.

Di from Holker was fantastic! We had a trail around the gardens with clues and significant objects to find as we went. We learnt all about the plants and objects in the garden along the way and admired the grand old lime tree.

Inside the hall we listened to the story of the great fire and compared it to the past and present with photographs. The children learnt about the snake that is the family emblem and were challenged to spot it all around the hall on our guided tour. We also learnt about who lives there now and the family tree.

To finish off the day we sketched the Hall outside in the sunshine and enjoyed and English Lakes Ice Cream.

A great day learning all about some local history!
