School Council

Our School Council is made up of children from Years 1-6, with an additional Year 6 member representing Reception.  The children are voted onto the School Council following successful 'Hustings'.  Each interested child prepares a speech, detailing why they feel they would be a good counsellor.  They present this to their class and each class member then votes.  Our 'Hustings' has taken place in early September 2017 to vote in our new representatives.  We now have a keen and eager team awaiting their first meeting!

Last academic year the children planned and delivered the 'BBC Children in Need Fair' in our school hall, working with a group of children from Cartmel Priory Secondary School.  They designed games and activities, as well as making items to sell at the fair.  All proceeds went to this worthy cause.

The School Council also worked on our 'Worship Cloths Project' with a local volunteer.  We are creating worship cloths linked to each of the liturgical colours. They worked together to select elements of the designs submitted and piece them together to get the finished design.  The green cloth is complete and looks beautiful, decorated in crosses, acorns, leaves and flowers.  The next white cloth is also complete and awaiting the blessing ceremony from Rev Nick.

The School Council also helped lead our 'Bright Stars Competition' in which we worked with Cartmel Racecourse to 'grow' the £50 from CforLP (Centre for Leadership Performance).  We raised over £800 and developed all sorts of skills, from management experience to resilience and perseverence!  Further information can be found at
