Message from The Friends

Hi Everyone, Just a quick update from Friends, A while ago in a very different time, at the start of lockdown, we devised a quiz which could be completed at home and posted back, however we received no replies, we understand that we were all preoccupied with lockdown and the difficulties it brings, so we hope to revisit this idea again in the future. During lockdown we put in place a painted stone trail within the forest schools area, to encourage our young people to keep exploring, enjoying the outdoors as a family, in a space that feels familiar and safe to them. We hope you have enjoyed visiting the trail and we intend to keep it maintained throughout the summer holidays. You can download details of the trail from the school website under the Parents and Friends section. http://www.cartmel.cumbria.sch.uk/serve_file/661963 We intend to hold a pre loved uniform sale in September/October to help with all those outgrown uniforms, We understand that uniforms will not be required for the first part of the term. With regards to the Cartmel Curiosity Trail booklet, the application for funding was submitted at the start of this year, pre lockdown. However due to Covid, The Heritage Lottery Fund informed us that the process has been put on hold until December 2020. We hope to be able to run with the project next year. We wish everyone a happy holiday and we look forward to September and all that a new school year will bring. Kind regards Helen & Friends
