Children of Hope

I have received a lovely email from Juliet Burd of the Children of Hope charity we have been fundraising for over the year.  Money from the own clothes day in the Autumn term and the Easter Garden competition was donated to them.  She write to tell us the following information:

Whilst I was in Uganda we arranged a school trip for the P4 and P5 classes.
I used the money Cartmel Primary donated to pay for the entrance fee to the biscuit factory.
We took 66 pupils plus staff to visit a number of interesting places that are part of the Ugandan social studies curriculum.
The children started with a tour of the Riham biscuit plant and then went on to see the Mabira forest (one of the largerst forests in Uganda), a place called the martyrs' shrine in Namugongo, and then on to Jinga where they saw a dam across the Nile, a new suspension bridge and then took a boat tour to the source of the NIle itself.

I have some reports written by the children to give to you to share with your classes.

I look forward to receiving the reports to share with the classes in due course.
