Welcome by Mrs Milner

Date: 4th Nov 2020 @ 5:16pm

A warm welcome to everyone as school begins again for another half term, hoping you had a refreshing and enjoyable holiday break. We welcome Mr Nicol who is currently supporting school and on behalf of the Governing Body offer our grateful thanks to him at a time of ever changing guidance and rules in education, knowing that he has the experience needed  to guide our school community during Mrs Battersby's absence. I have sent our best wishes to her from everyone.
Today, being a beautiful sunny Autumn Day, I went for a walk in Cartmel and met some of the staff utilising the opportunity of good weather for sport with Class 3 and heard about their successful Forest Schools morning. The exquisite leaf mobiles hanging from the tree in the school entrance caught the sunlight and splashed their colours in a magical way. The apple trees are now nearly bare but the last crop had been collected and the school environs still looked colourful after all the downpours. We are fortunate to be able to use our locality to extend learning and have fun through its use.

I heard about the trip to Vindolanda which had clearly made a huge impact on the children and thank Mrs Yarrow for organising this during these difficult times.

The Governors hope for everyone to keep safe and well, especially during the month ahead of lockdown, looking forward immensely to hearing more about the activities school are undertaking and planning for the term.

Mrs Milner.Chair of Governors on behalf of the Governing Body.
