Pupil voice - Vindolanda.

Date: 22nd Nov 2018 @ 10:22pm

What an amazing trip to Vindolanda last week.          How do I know ???

The responses of a huge number of children who have talked about their visit to me, show that they have brought away not only interesting facts and experiences but have a much greater depth of knowledge about the Roman past. Being blessed with such wonderful weather they explored artefacts from archaeological digs that left them in awe. The writing tablets seen are unique : the past written down, there for them to see today. Learning what life was like for those Roman soldiers on  Hadrian's Wall, through exploring the remains of the Roman Fort and seeing the objects and well presented displays in the museum has brought history alive for the children and I am sure will have a huge impact on their follow up work back in school.

Keep exploring history!!         Mrs Milner. Link governor for History.
