Lakeland Wildlife Oasis trip

Date: 12th Jun 2019 @ 10:59am

Have you ever held a python, surrounded by rainforest fauna? Some of Class 2 have now!

Our visit to the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis was amazing. From the moment we arrived, we watched tiny monkeys playing in the trees, before exploring the animals which live in the indoor rainforest biome. We held stick insects and looked at leaf cutter ants scuttling along ropes. There were also tarantulas – but Mr D stayed well clear of them!

Next, we saw some giant Amazon fish called pacus, which are related to piranhas! We continued our tour through the Oasis and saw all kinds of rainforest animals – from frogs and lizards to tortoises. Some of us even stroked Frank the lizard and held Caspian the royal python.

Outside, we saw exotic birds and beautiful snow leopards, before having a quick play while we waited for the bus to take us home.
