Headteacher Friday Update 30th April 2021

Date: 30th Apr 2021 @ 8:29am

What a wonderful week! It’s been so exciting in school this week and a real buzz of creativity has been driving us all!  We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the woods on Monday at Forest Schools.  So much so, that we have arranged a fortnightly trip with the whole school to continue our outdoor learning.  More info to follow nearer the time.

Vicky and Carly from CHOL Theatre Company visited school yesterday and led workshops with all three classes, followed by a training session for staff.  Their work focuses on creating ‘Imaginary Communities’ and is geared towards creative writing and developing life skills, such as collaboration and team work, communication and presentation through creative play. Class 1 developed an ‘Island’, Class 2 looked at ‘Space’ and to Class 3 considered ‘Egyptians.’  They were all introductory sessions into the concept and CHOL will be continuing to work with us in a Digital Residency over this term.

Orienteering was a great success and the children seemed to really enjoy applying their learning in school with Mrs Bell to a wider environment.  The forthcoming additional sessions will offer further variety in differing locations for them to engage their new skills.

I hope you all have a super Bank Holiday weekend and look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!
