Headteacher Friday Update 26th June 2020

Date: 26th Jun 2020 @ 11:54am

As this week draws to a close, I feel it only right to celebrate all the children's learning from this week.  It has been great to link with the 'Bees' and 'Butterflies' bubbles in school and with their teachers, through lessons and worships.  Seeing so many children join our worships from home, was really wonderful and a time in the day to all come together and have a few moments of quiet.

Looking over all the learning on Tapestry, Seesaw and School Spider, shows just how much everyone is doing.  Thank you parents for your continued support of your child's home learning.  It's great to see all the sharing going on; drawings, videos, photos and work.

Children in school have been 'Busy Bees' outside during our superb weather, doing all sorts of creative activities with Miss Taylor-Crozier, Mrs Walker and Mrs Bowden.  Year 6 have also been outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and working hard in class with Mr Dunstan and Miss Lace.  It's been great to welcome so many children to the Class 2 Imaginary Communities Zoom sessions and the Year 5s into the Class 3 Zoom sessions, run by Mrs Yarrow, Mrs Armstrong and myself.  Needless to say, my continued very grateful thanks to all the staff for their hard work and care of our children through this difficult time.

There is one person who through all this has continued to work very hard behind the scenes and on the ground in school.  Mrs Wilson has kept things running smoothly in the school office, liaising with contractors, staff, parents and indeed, our new parents for September.  Her support has been invaluable and I wish to extend my thanks to her for her continued dedication to our lovely school.

I look forward to seeing everyone again through virtual mediums next week.

I will be in touch regarding the final two weeks of school and activities planned for our Year 6 leavers later next week.

Wishing you all a good weekend.  Please keep safe and take care,

Mrs Battersby
