Gingerbread Man Day

The Busy Bees have enjoyed a day themed all around the story of The Gingerbread Man.

In the morning we acted out the story of 'The Gingerbread Man' then the children drew out their own version using a storytrail. After playtime our candles were lit and we wrote out our individual stories which we will share during class time.

It was then time to make our gingerbread dough, weighing and measuring our ingredients and learning about safety in the kitchen when heating the butter, sugar and syrup in a pan.

We rolled out our dough and cut out our gingerbread men, then it was into the oven.

Once they'd cooled we decorated them with icing, cherries and smarties. The children commented that they were really pleased that the gingerbread men had not ran away. 

Hope they tasted as good as they looked. Enjoy !
